Serengeti Care Limited is a medical equipment and laboratory supplies company based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The company deals in a range of healthcare equipment and supplies, including hospital equipment, laboratory supplies, and specific items like hemoglobin analyzers, surgical scalpel blades, and glucometers.

The Tender Officer will be responsible for managing the tendering process from the initial stage of identifying opportunities, preparing tender documents, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements, and submitting competitive bids. The officer will also coordinate with departments to ensure successful contract execution after award.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Management
  • Identify and track tender opportunities from various sources.
  • Prepare, review, and submit tender documents within deadlines.
  • Ensure all tender requirements are accurately compiled and submitted.
  • Maintain tender registers and records for audit and reporting purposes.
2. Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all tenders comply with company policies, legal frameworks, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate the collection of mandatory documents (certificates, licenses, tax clearance, etc.).
  • Monitor changes in tender regulations and update management accordingly.
3. Coordination & Communication
  • Work closely with finance, procurement, and technical teams to gather necessary information.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and partners to support bid preparation.
  • Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and negotiations.
4. Contract Follow-Up
  • Support management in reviewing awarded contracts.
  • Ensure smooth handover to the operations/procurement team after contract signing.
  • Monitor contract performance in collaboration with relevant departments.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in tendering, procurement, or contracts management.
  • Good knowledge of public procurement laws and tender procedures.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
