The IT Airport Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations within an airport. Responsibilities include supporting staff to make sure that they provide prompt, polite, and accurate information to immigration agents. The IT Airport Supervisor is knowledgeable in airport procedures and policies, and oversees that service is provided reliably and properly. The IT Airport Supervisor is also responsible for organizing all employees, guaranteeing that the security and enrolling systems are working properly, and solving any problems that may occur.

Working Conditions

The IT airport supervisor may be required to work evenings and weekends, during emergency or programmed situations. Supervisors are expected to be on duty around the clock.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all employees to make sure that they comply with security procedures and airport regulations
  • Meet with people as a representative of the company at the airport and assist as necessary
  • Handle airport personnel and immigration personnel specific and continuous training.
  • Scheduling an adequate number of employees.
  • Coordinate all the activities of personnel who are involved in the repair and maintenance facilities and equipment to lessen the intermission of airport operations and improve efficiency
  • Study investigation reports, and initiate corrective and preventive actions
  • Deals with client complaints or problems concerning airport personnel or services
  • Immediately respond to level 2 issues reported by the IT support technicians

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field is required or 3 5 years’ experience in the aviation industry.
  • Excellent oral and written personal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills as well as knowledge of aviation regulations, laws, and guidelines.
  • Must have good administrative skills, be motivated and goal-oriented
  • Five years of experience in the IT field with deployed immigration controls software and hardware a plus.
  • Experience using and troubleshooting problems in Windows 10, Windows Server, and Linux.
  • Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
